He was great from start to finish, making it comfortable, explaining thoroughly and cheering him on as he stood up and rode the waves but also just so encouraging and great vibes all around from the whole team. Everyone is extremely professional, supportive, and kind--and they will get you up on your board! Three of my four boys have taken multiple lessons, as well as myself and my husband, and I'm sure as soon as the youngest is 8, he will be in the water with EcoVentures as well! When my boys started, they knew nothing about surfing and now all three are going out on their own, regularly catching waves. Thanks for all the great memories and fun over the years, Dave and crew!  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I took 3 classes with my 13yo son and his friend. This was a first time for all of us.  We went (mon-wed) for one hour each. We had a different instructor each time and we got better with each class. We wanted to do it this way to see how much we really enjoyed surfing and evaluate what it would take to be able to do it on your own. We used beginner boards on day 1 and we all had immediate success. By the time we got to day 3, they gave me a more advanced board, and then I humbly learned that there is more to learn  :-)

Overall the experience was great, the instructors were super helpful, and this was a memorable experience.

I have not surfed since 2022, when I had a total blast with Dave. My goal this time was to feel confident catching waves on my own and to build a foundation that I could take to another surfing beach in the future. Loved working with Annie and together we accomplished this goal. Thanks again to Dave and his crew!

2022: These guys know what they are doing. They are patient and encouraging and deliver very clear, precise and simple instructions. All you have to do is what they say. Which, as you might guess, is easier said than done. I took a group lesson the first day to get the basics and a private the next to fine tune. I’m 48 and have never surfed but I got up many times and had a blast. Put aside your doubts and just book it. You’ll be glad you did.
